BLOCK THE PIG — Review + Tips & Tricks:
Block the Pig is a pure brain duel—just you, a hex board, and one wildly determined porker trying to jailbreak to the edge. Every click places a stone wall; every response, the pig hustles one tile toward freedom. It’s quick to learn, but the “oh-no-it’s-slipping-through” moments will keep you locked in for way longer than you planned.
Your Goal
Trap the pig before it reaches any border hex. Sounds easy… until you realize every block opens up a new route somewhere else. The trick isn’t chasing it; it’s thinking two, three turns ahead and closing lanes it hasn’t used—yet.
How It Plays
The pig starts near the center. On your turn, you click a hex to place a barrier. Then the pig moves one step toward an available path. If it touches the edge, it’s gone. Early on, don’t panic and spam random walls. Instead, start forming a loose ring around it, then tighten that loop by sealing gaps. Hex grids connect on six sides, so diagonal “sneak paths” appear fast—cut those first.
Why It Hooks You
Every round is a bite-sized puzzle with zero downtime. You’ll catch yourself muttering “one more try” as you refine the same idea: shape a donut, predict the pivot, force the pig into a dead pocket, and drop the final block like a checkmate. When you nail a clean trap and watch the board lock shut, it’s chef’s-kiss satisfying.
Quick Tips
Open with control, not panic. Place the first 3–4 blocks at medium range to sketch the corral.
Cut corridors, don’t tail chase. If two lanes converge, one block kills both options.
Save a stopper for the final squeeze. Leave yourself a “plug” move for the last remaining gap.
