BACON MAY DIE — Review + Tips & Tricks:

Bacon May Die drops you into a side-scrolling brawler where one extremely angry pig turns hordes of zombie critters into confetti. The combat is the main course: a chunky mix of melee swats and ranged blasts that feels great once you start chaining hits. You’ll swap between pans, bats, blades, pistols, and launchers in seconds, popping barrels and punting bunnies like you’re late to a barbecue.

What keeps runs spicy is the variety. There are 100+ unlockable weapons and outfits, so your pig can roll up as a sunglasses-and-chains menace or a walking meme and still shred waves. Expect short arenas, quick waves, and the occasional boss that forces you to learn patterns instead of pure button mashing. Tip: open with a stun or heavy swing, then cancel into gunfire to keep space when mobs stack.

Controls are refreshingly simple and responsive. On keyboard, you move and attack with the arrows or WASD; holding a direction fires, and you’ve got situational moves like grenades to break a crowd. It’s easy to pick up, but the timing window for clean hits, dodge hops, and midair juggles gives you plenty of ceiling to get sweaty.

Local co-op is where the chaos really pops. Two pigs on one screen means twice the firepower and twice the panic when a boss dashes across the arena. Coordinate: one player kites and pops grenades while the other goes full blender up close. The rhythm shifts from “survive” to “style on ’em” fast once you sync your roles.

And yes, the rumors are true — there’s a feathery sidekick. The pet chicken hops in with extra damage and goofy clutch moments that save bad engagements. Outfit synergy plus a little poultry power turns late waves from scary to satisfying.

Quick strat bites:
Range check. Start each wave by testing enemy speed with a few taps of gunfire before committing to melee.
Corner discipline. Don’t get walled — hop through gaps after heavy swings to reset aggro.
Boss reads. Watch for telegraphed dashes; step in for a punish the instant they whiff.
