GO KART GO ULTRA — Review + Tips & Tricks:

Go Kart Go! Ultra! is pure Saturday-morning mayhem on wheels — bright tracks, animal racers, and items that turn clean overtakes into delicious chaos. It’s karting with personality, and the personality is “I just dropped oil on a corner and felt zero guilt.”

Under the hood, this one’s got legit depth. The series from Xform lets you pick from a goofy cast (think parrots, rhinos, and more), then blast through circuits like Old Station, Central Park, and Watermill Mine. Tracks pack boost pads, sneaky ramps, and alternate lines that reward curiosity. If you only floor it, you’ll miss the shortcuts — and the stars you need to unlock more racers and challenges.

Items are the great equalizer. Grab a box and you might pull rockets for straight-line punch, slippery oil to ruin someone’s apex, or a water splash to scramble the pack. Use them right after a boost pad and you can flip a third-place slog into a photo finish. Pro tip: deploy hazards right before tight chicanes — panic plus physics equals free positions.

Modes & feel: Solo works well for setting lap records and learning lines, but two-player split-screen is where the trash talk lives. Short races, loud outcomes, instant rematches — it’s the perfect “best of five… okay best of seven” game. Controls are clean and old-school: steer with arrows/WASD, jump + drift to feed your boost, and time items mid-corner to punish greed. The handling sits in that sweet spot where micro-corrections matter, but anyone can jump in and have a blast.

Why it slaps: Bite-sized races keep the pace high, track layouts always offer a riskier line, and star unlocks give you a reason to replay. Plus, the visual style sells the silliness without getting in the way of reads — you can actually spot hazards and line up cheeky overtakes.
