HOUSE OF HAZARDS — Review + Tips & Tricks:
House of Hazards turns everyday chores into a full-on boss fight, and I’m here for it. One minute you’re making coffee or checking the mail, the next a ceiling lamp swings like a wrecking ball while the toaster fires hot bread artillery. It’s slapstick mayhem wrapped in a party game — perfect for calling out your friends when they “accidentally” drop a cabinet on your head.
What makes it tick is the split personality: half the time you’re sprinting to finish simple tasks, and half the time you’re the troll, triggering traps at the worst (best) moment. The win condition is clean — complete your list and get out — but every room hides a new gotcha: spring-loaded drawers, slippery puddles, and the classic falling lamp. Timing is everything, and greedy plays get punished fast.
Local multiplayer is the magic. You can play solo, but chaos scales with more bodies on the couch. Movement is snappy, jumps have just enough float to bait mistakes, and hazard buttons are placed so you’re always tempted to detour and grief your buddies. With quick rounds and instant rematches, it becomes that “best-of-3” that somehow turns into “best-of-17.”
Pro-ish tips from a chaotic neutral 20-year-old:
• Read the room cycles. Lamps and cabinets follow rhythms — move right after a swing, not before.
• Task order matters. Do the risky chore (mailbox, kitchen) when the hazard player is distracted; save easy indoor stuff for last.
• Trap etiquette (aka no etiquette). Don’t spam one hazard — chain them. A lamp swing into a toaster pop is chef’s-kiss evil.

• Ring mayhem: Rowdy Wrestling — floppy fighters, big tosses, bigger laughs.
• Duel at dawn: Drunken Duel — wobbly aim, clutch headshots, glorious chaos.
