PACMAN — Review + Tips & Tricks:
Pacman is peak arcade comfort food: one maze, four colorful bullies, and a yellow legend who never skips cardio. Your job’s simple — clear every pellet — but the mind games start the second Blinky (red) locks in. Pinky loves ambush angles, Inky gets weird and reacts to both you and Blinky, and Clyde… wanders like he forgot the assignment, then suddenly rushes you near the bottom-left. They’re not random — they’re patterned chaos — and learning those patterns is where the sauce is.
The maze runs on rhythms. Ghosts cycle between “scatter” (each heads to a corner) and “chase” (they come for you), so your route should flex with the cycle. Power pellets flip the script — chomp one and the squad turns blue, letting you chain tasty ghost combos. Just remember the frightened timer shrinks on later boards, so don’t over-farm; grab a couple, reset the route, keep pressure on dots you’ve ignored.
Fruit lore matters. Bonus fruit pops in briefly (twice per board) and the value climbs as you advance — it’s free points if your route passes center, but not worth a panic detour if the ghosts are closing. Use the side tunnels to break pursuit: your speed stays steady while theirs dips, which buys breathing room to re-center. Corner-cutting helps too — turn early and Pac will “clip” the bend faster than the ghosts.
Starter route (easy to memorize):
• Open with the top lanes while the first scatter is active; it’s the safest space early.
• Swing down the right side, leaving a few pellets near each power pellet for endgame control.
• When the pack stacks up, drag them to a tunnel, flip, grab a power pellet, and farm a quick 2–3 ghost snack chain.
Why it still slaps: the rules are crystal clear, but the micro-decisions never stop — risk a fruit, bail through a tunnel, or hold a pellet for a late-board bailout. That loop keeps you pressing “Next” long after you meant to log off.
