SHORTCUT RACE — Review + Tips & Tricks:
Shortcut Race is the kind of sprint that rewards brains as much as thumbs. Yeah, you’re running, but the real flex is choosing when to leave the track and build your own line. Grab wooden planks, throw down a quick bridge over water or gaps, and boom—you’ve shaved half the corner like a speedrunner. Just remember: every plank you carry adds a tiny tax to your pace, so over-collecting can slow you enough for rivals to breeze by.
How to win the mind game
Open strong by scooping a safe stack of planks, then hug the outer edge of the pack and watch their routes. When someone commits to a shortcut, don’t panic-copy—pivot. Cut to an even tighter angle that steals their line and forces them to overspend planks. The clutch plays are the ones that land you back on the track ahead of the herd with one or two boards still in pocket.
Plank economy 101
Think of planks as fuel. Use short, surgical bridges instead of full-on highways. Tap–drop–dash rather than holding build forever. If you’re light on planks, rejoin the track early and snipe a fresh pile; if you’re heavy, take a greedy diagonal but leave a micro buffer so you don’t run dry two tiles from land (been there, screamed that).
Timing is everything
Early shortcuts are great for breaking free of traffic, but the mid-lap and final-lap cuts win races. Save a mini-stack for that last nasty bend so you can blaze a straight line while everyone else is zig-zagging. And if the course funnels everyone into one bridge, bait them to overbuild, then hop off sooner to undercut their landing.
Level vibes & practice picks
Some courses are pure water-world with mega diagonals; others reward tiny stutter-bridges around bumps. Want to sharpen your reflexes and racing lines? Try Speed Stars to master rhythm and burst control, warm up on Rally Champion for corner discipline, and hop into Tiny Town Racing for quick decision-making through traffic. They’re perfect side quests before diving back into Shortcut Race.
Final sprint: Plot clean lines, spend planks smart, and choose the boldest cuts—the wins feel extra sweet when you outthink the pack. Fire up more quick, school-friendly races at Class6x Games and start dropping those lap times.
